UMBC Elevator broken for a week
But should I really be surprised?

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but one of the elevators in Sherman Hall has been out of service...for a week. It's especially problematic because one of the offices that helps students with disabilities (including students with limited mobility and students in wheelchairs) is located by the out of service elevator.
There have been elevator repair people working on it, but it is still not fixed. I'm not entirely sure why they can't fix it, but this elevator breaks down often. My question is why haven't they replaced it yet?
Also, if you look carefully at the elevator certificates on this campus, most of them are expired (including the one in the broken elevator). Pretty sure this is violation of state law.... According to the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation, you can apply for a 6 month grace period, but I know the other elevator's certificate in Sherman Hall B wing expired at the end of March.
What do you guys think?
