Rumors about a merger between UMBC and College Park. What are your views on this topic? What questions do you have? This is probubly just talk but I want to know what you think. What do you think about the UMB and UMD merger as well.

Will University of Maryland, Baltimore County be able to keep its mascot or will the mascot be the Terrapin? Will this increase or decrease the tuition at both institutions? Who is this going to benefit and why? Mergers mean fewer jobs, your losing the duplicated jobs. Being that College Park is the flag ship campus, I believe the duplicated jobs will be lost on the Baltimore County side. All the funding will be issued to College Park and dispersed as they see fit. I don’t know about you but I don’t feel comfortable with that.
