Now that I have graduated with my Masters degree from UMBC I am facing a dilemma of mammoth proportions - Should I ditch my UMD license plate featuring my best buddy Testudo for a UMBC plate that does not have our school mascot - True Grit?

Don't get me wrong - I think that the "XL" plate is nice in its own quirky way, but it is clearly missing the primary identifier of the university. I hope that president Hrabowski reads these discussion forums or that someone in his office will relay to him that while the XL plate has it's charm, it does not have the power it could  in promoting the institution as a plate with our logo would.

Please consider changing the plate! I can honestly say that despite my love for UMD, as a new alum of UMBC, I would proudly display a new plate with True Grit and the UMBC letters.
