Parking
How come I cant find a spot in Lot 1 at Noon!!!

History has taught us the first two weeks of the semester present our biggest parking challenges. Our parking inventory is stretched to the limit during this time but has yet to be 100% filled. With the addition of Lot 29 and over 400 spots we have increased our inventory even with the removal of UMBC Blvd. parking. I would like to offer some suggestions for students during the upcoming weeks as they travel to campus:
- If arriving early (prior to 10a.m.) parking in the core of Campus is more likely to be available (Lot 1, 3, 4, Common Garage, or the loop.
- If arriving after 10:00a.m. parking is more likely available outside the loop in Lot 22, 29, Stadium Lot, Poplar Avenue, or Lot 25.
- Save time and gas by traveling to areas where parking is more likely to be available.
- Follow the directions of police who will be directing traffic during our busiest times.
- Why sit in a lot for 20 minutes waiting for a spot or driving in circles for 20 minutes when you can find one in an outer lot and walk 10-15 minutes to your destination? Be green and get some exercise!
Please check the parking map for the referenced locations. Thanks.
