    <div class="html-content">Happy Finals Week Retrievers!<div>As this school year comes to an end, here are some end-of-year celebrations happening on campus.</div>
    <div><br></div>
    <h4>2024 Black &amp; Latine/x Graduation Celebration</h4>
    <div>
    <p><span>Please join us for the <strong>4th Annual Black &amp; Latine/x Graduation Celebration on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024 </strong>from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in The Skylight Lounge, The Commons 3rd Floor. This evening event celebrates the wonderful achievements of UMBC's Black and Latina/e/o/x graduating seniors and graduate students as well as contributing community members.</span></p>
    <br><p><span>Light refreshments and appetizers will be served starting at 5:30 pm for all graduates and guests in attendance. </span></p>
    <p><span><br></span></p>
    <p><span><span><strong>Dress</strong></span><span><strong>:</strong> We ask that all attendees and graduates come in their "graduation best". Cap &amp; gown is not required. </span></span></p>
    <br><p><span><strong>For those interested in attending,</strong></span> you may use the <a href="https://forms.gle/d1Dxz581dxR2SZu89" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Graduation RSVP Form</a> or <a href="https://forms.gle/d1Dxz581dxR2SZu89" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">https://forms.gle/d1Dxz581dxR2SZu89</a>. Check-in will begin at 5:30 pm for graduates. <span>This form serves to gather RSVPs for graduates, their guests, and our community members. If you are a graduate, there is an opportunity to submit information about your achievements and degrees. Graduates that RSVP prior to Friday, May 3rd will be highlighted during the event and receive honorary graduation cords.</span></p>

    <span>You may have heard of Retriever Integrated Health's Skills Training in the Application of Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR) counseling group, which </span>helps students who struggle with relationship dynamics and emotion regulation.  We know that not everyone can commit to a 6-week group and that the group times don't always work with students' schedules, so we're excited to bring some of the group's skills to folx in a workshop format as well.<div><span><br></span></div>

    <span>This workshop focuses on Distress Tolerance skills.  Students will have the opportunity to learn specific skills to identify when they need to keep moving through distressing situations and how to manage the distress when they do.</span><div><br></div>
    <div><span><div>
    <div>This is a non-clinical service provided by Retriever Integrated Health, so no appointments or consultations are required and any UMBC community member can join this session!</div>

<Title>2023 UMBC LSAMP Year in Review</Title>

    <div>We are incredibly grateful for the support of the faculty and staff who have enabled the success of LSAMP at UMBC. We understand it is not always easy and we appreciate all that you do. It truly takes a village to support all students across campus.</div>
    <div>Thank you to all the faculty, postdoc, and graduate student mentors for guiding our student researchers. <br>
    </div>
    <div>This year we showcased three of our amazing students from the Class of 23. </div>
    <div><ul>
    <li>Future Dr. Chizaram Ugboh - Mechanical Engineering - Chizaram is pursuing her Masters at Purdue and was just announced as an NSF GRFP awardee.</li>
    <li>Future Dr. Diego Iglesias Vega - Chemical Engineering - Diego is pursuing his Masters at M.I.T.</li>
    <li>Future Dr. Kelvin Fadojutmi  - Biochemistry - Kelvin is a Postbaccalaureate Fellow at MSK.</li>
    </ul></div>
    <div>We also highlighted two faculty members, Dr. Patricia Ordóñez from COEIT who has hosted 5 LSAMP Research Fellows in her lab and conducted sessions for LSAMP and Dr. Michelle Starz-Gaiano from CNMS who has hosted 9 LSAMP Research Fellows in her lab for their continued contributions to our students and program and our village of campus partners.</div>
