The t-shirts have arrived! If you’ve filled out the t-shirt form, please stop by Lydia DeRidder’s office in PHAB 451 to pick yours up! Lydia is typically in her office from 8:30-5pm, Monday - Thursday.
Please note that you should email Lydia (lderidde@umbc.edu) prior to coming in to make sure that she will be in her office when you want to pick up your shirt.
For those that want to wear their shirt on the DC trip this Sunday, below is Lydia’s schedule for this week, so be sure to pick up your shirt during these times!
Tuesday, 8:30am - 5pm

Hi everyone! We’re happy to announce that we will be giving away free t-shirts that are ancient studies branded! In order to get a t-shirt, you must fill out this google form: https://tinyurl.com/6m54dkcu. This form closes Thursday, March 14th @ 11:59pm!
We only have 30 shirts available to order, so please don't wait!
Some info:
-We will give priority to those who have signed up for the DC trip this April (sign up here: https://tinyurl.com/zyweu7kh), but you do not need to sign up for the trip to get a shirt.
-Those that have signed up for the DC trip, and have filled out this form, will get their t-shirt after they board the bus, on April 14th.
Any t-shirts that are not claimed will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis after the DC trip. Please be on the lookout for more information about this after April 14th.

Welcome to the spring semester! We hope you had a relaxing and restful winter break! We will continue to spread the joy of looking at the Ancient Mediterranean, no matter if you have an ANCS degree or are just looking to become an ancient history enthusiast!
To be in the loop for our semester’s events, meet us at our booth during Involvement Fest on Wednesday the 7th from 12-1pm. You can also be on the lookout for our events on our myUMBC page as well as our discord. We hope to see you at Involvement Fest!

We at the Ancient Studies council want to extend a very warm welcome to the new students who have begun their UMBC experience, and to those who are continuing their Retriever experience! Now, many may well ask, “What exactly is this club, and what do you do?”
Well, φιλοι, the answer to that is actually pretty simple! We are a club that wants to spread the joy of looking at the Ancient Mediterranean as an Ancient Studies major to the student body, and the most enjoyable parts of the study of the Ancient Mediterranean!
From mock Athenian Jury trials, to scribal schools, to Saturnalia and Dionysia, we are here to show how fun the study of the ancient world can be!
