I’m writing today to let you know of opportunities the Howard County Heritage Program offers for your students to find a meaningful internship while gaining real world experience relevant to their course of study. The Heritage Program has the distinct privilege of sharing and interpreting the rich and assorted histories of Howard County and the surrounding region at various historic sites open to the public. Our interpretive timeline spans the colonial period through the Civil Rights Era so there are many prospects including in the areas of colonial history, Civil War, African American history and women’s studies. Your students will join an enthusiastic group of diverse individuals who devote time to sharing their knowledge of historic events, facts, and the living history of the trades and lifeways that allowed early Howard County inhabitants to thrive.
