Open to: - Majors/Minors: MLLI/Global Studies/Media Studies - Graduate Students: LLC/INCC students - Bilingual students and students with experience in design, and audiovisual production are encouraged to apply. - Commitment: 1 semester (renewable). This project will promote one-on-one collaboration between UMBC students and members of immigration communities in Baltimore, or better yet critical exploration of students’ own immigrant experiences or ideas about immigration. By promoting the coproduction of digital stories, this project will enhance student’s language and cultural competence while making immigrants (particularly Spanish speakers) visible as part of the local community. UMBC’s diverse community will benefit from understanding that the lived experience of immigrants differs from well-known stereotypes. Deadline: May 1, 2017.

# # #
