Ephesians 3:14-21 (NIV)
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every familyin heaven and on earth derives its name. 16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.
Reflection:
God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. All of this so that God may be glorified in the church; that He may be glorified in Christ Jesus in our generation and through all generations. This was Paul’s earnest prayer for the believers in the church in Ephesus to know and understand. In this passage, we can sense how much he desires for them to know how great the Father’s love is for them; the assurance that God was and is going to do something great among them so that he would receive glory. It is the same for us today. As we continue to stay rooted in the love the Father has for us, we can look forward to the immeasurably more that he will do according to his power that is at work within us!

Spend some time reading through this prayer. Ask the Lord to speak to you as you read through it. As you receive his love afresh in your heart, take time to pray through this passage for our churches asking that in all that we do, God would receive glory through his church.
