Psalm 145:4-9 (NIV)
“One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts.
They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty-
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.
They tell of the power of your awesome works-
and I will proclaim your great deeds.
They celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.”
Worship and witness go hand in hand. They are both corporate and personal. True worship is in Spirit and truth - substantive, rooted in God and in His presence, so David resolves to meditate on who God is and on His mighty and miraculous works. He remembers God’s abundant goodness and righteousness. Worship is to also lead us into being a witness to others around us, so that they are encouraged to join in. This worship and witness is based on who God is and therefore has one heart in mind - the Father’s heart. God’s mighty works come forth because of His heart - “gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love…good to all, he has compassion on all he has made.” In this love, God has come to redeem us, and each generation of worshipers is to be a witness of His heart.
Let us come to the Father and ask Him for His heart. Lord, help us to worship you in Spirit and truth! May our lives be worship and witness to the love of Jesus Christ, the mighty God and King. Let’s also pray that our ministries would be fellowships of worship and witness where others come and experience the abundant goodness and compassion of God. May our generation receive and experience God’s salvation love and forgiveness through Jesus Christ and become the true worshipers that God desires. https://safeshare.tv/x/vEXx0mfxe-E
