Psalm 145:1-3 (NIV)
“I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever.
Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.”
Philippians 2:9-11 (NIV)
“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
In Psalm 145, King David commits to praise God’s name every day. Notice the repetition of “name”. The name of God reveals His nature, who He is. He is exalted to the highest place, and His name is above every name! Worship is not about our effort, skill or even the good mechanics of “doing” worship. Worship begins with God and His greatness which is unfathomable. He is infinite, eternal and holy. He is glory and He is love! In view of God’s greatness, David, a king himself, offers his life to God - he resolves to bow his life down and praise God, the only true King.
This unfathomable, true and holy God and King has come to us and revealed the infinite greatness of His glory and love through Jesus Christ. Praise and thank God today that He is King! Ask God to help us see more of who He truly is. Let us surrender afresh and resolve to bow our lives down and praise God today, and every day - why? Because, “Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.” May the Lord lead our lives in to worship that is in awe of Him! https://safeshare.tv/x/ckamuz-u6FQ
