Ephesians 1:13-14 (NIV) - “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession-to the praise of his glory.”

Probably like many of us, I have a hard time believing commercials or advertisements that guarantee overnight success whether it’s weight loss, beautiful hair, skin, etc. It seems too good to be true and also probably because my previous experiences with such products left me disappointed.

However, there is a promise that we can be certain about - it’s a promise of our inheritance in Christ! As children of God, our inheritance is guaranteed. The Holy Spirit lives in us, and He is a deposit that guarantees our inheritance. The Holy Spirit will never leave us. The most incredible reality is that we get a foretaste of our inheritance of our salvation and redemption here and now through the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We experience God’s love and healing, freedom from sin, the joy of our salvation, power to overcome and live in victory. Our Father is not far. He is with us getting us ready for that day. Let’s be secure in His love and commitment to us today.
