Romans 8:14-15 (NLT) - “For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, ‘Abba, Father.’”

On any given day, consider the fears that we can have. Perhaps, we have allowed the fears to continue to grip us and paralyze us. And, fear is the result of sin and death; but God, in his love for us through Christ, triumphantly overcame sin and death so we no longer are slaves to fear. The Holy Spirit testifies in our hearts how we are his and can walk in the closest and most intimate of relationships with him. Fear is a thing of the past! If it is a thing of the past, let’s not live in a past reality. Let’s live the “now” reality that we have fully in Christ. We are no longer slaves to fear.

As we do so, may we be healed by God’s word today that we are no longer slaves to fear. Let’s entrust our hearts, our lives, our fears and all of our concerns to the Lord.
