Song of Songs 4:9-10 - “You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride; you have stolen my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace. How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride! How much more pleasing is your love than wine, and the fragrance of your perfume more than any spice!”
This is a passionate depiction of the lover, who is totally lost in love. He admits to the fact that she has stolen his heart. We are not told what she has done nor the content of her character, but just the glance of a single look and the mere refection of the jewel places this enthralling love high above any other pleasures of the world.
This passage gives us this poetic insight into the heart of God, how the groom is longing and desiring for the bride. The bride is in a great position. She has stolen the heart of the groom.
Now we as the church, desiring to be ready as the bride of Christ, can take great comfort and confidence as we continue to forge ahead. We are certainly secure in His love! We are not insecure brides; we have Jesus’ love with us forever! His love is forever!
Application: Today, you may be beginning your day or you may be retiring for the night, let’s be totally secure in His love. If you in anyway have a sense of insecurity, let us fall into His arms of love as we pray and declare his love over our lives today.
