2 Timothy 2:8 (NIV) -“Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel…”
Psalm 93:1-2 (NIV) - “The Lord reigns, he is robed in majesty; the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength;indeed, the world is established, firm and secure.Your throne was established long ago;you are from all eternity.“
In this season of a recent presidential election and the inauguration of a new president, we are reminded of how it matters who is leading our country. Whoever is leading can set the tone in all sorts of matters whether it is health care and so forth. We want to know that whoever is leading the country will consider the best care for all of the people. So, in the end, who would not want to be in the best care possible?
But, thankfully, we know whose reign and care that we are really in - Jesus, raised from the dead, descended from David. Our King Jesus reigns over all and is over all. We can rest assured that we are in the best leading and best care possible. So no matter what we need to face or to go through, he is in control and his care will always be over us. He will always be with us.
So, let’s trust him with today and let’s humbly bring all of our cares and needs before him. In thankfulness, let’s be wonderfully reminded of his care in all aspects and in all details as we close worshipping with this song, “The Father’s Song”, by Matt Redman.
