2 Timothy 2:8 (NIV) - “Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel…”
Romans 8:11, 37 (NIV) - “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you…No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Have you ever found yourself saying? - “I don’t know how I am going to make it through.” Or, “this is just too hard. I can’t do it.” Sometimes, the things that we are going through or need to walk through just become too much or seem so overwhelming. Especially if it is something we need to face or work through day after day, sometimes, we simply feel so “exhausted” or “too tired” to do anything.
But, it is in moments like these, our selves and our own strength come to an end. And, we have nowhere else to turn but to Jesus and remember Jesus who was raised from the dead. His word reminds us that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is living in us. That is a power-full reality that we have in Christ. The Holy Spirit is living in us and we can ask for help and power to overcome.
We no longer need to give into our old “tired” or “defeated” attitudes. Through Jesus’ resurrection, we can overcome our weaknesses and struggles especially as we walk through difficult things or times. Let’s continue to remember - “Jesus Christ, resurrected from the dead” and let’s ask for his power to fill us today to live this day fully and well in him.
