John 10:27-30 (NLT) - “My sheep recognize my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and he is more powerful than anyone else. So no one can take them from me. The Father and I are one.”
Isaiah 43:1-3 (NIV) - “But now, this is what the Lord says - he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…”
God declares that as His sheep, we belong to Him and nothing can snatch us out of His hands. That’s why when we pass through difficult times in life we will not be overcome. When the rough waters of life come, we will not drown. When we feel like the pressures and the worries of this life are closing in on us, God is there and He is more powerful than anyone/ anything else. Our final destination is to be with Him, in His presence for all of eternity. Jesus, our Good Shepherd, will get us to our final destination without losing a single sheep that belongs to Him. No matter what comes our way, may we trust in Him fully and experience in a real way that He is indeed the Lord our God, the Holy One of Israel, our Savior. As we trust in Him each time, may we experience His rescue in our lives. It’s good to be in His hands. There is no better or safer place to be.
