Psalm 95:1-7 (NLT) - “Come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us give a joyous shout to the rock of our salvation! Let us come before him with thanksgiving. Let us sing him psalms of praise. For the LORD is a great God, the great King above all gods. He owns the depths of the earth, and even the mightiest mountains are his. The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land, too. Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the sheep under his care.“
We have reason to sing and reason to shout because we are God’s people. Our God is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth and everything in it. Everything belongs to Him. He is in control of all things. He is watching over us and no detail escapes His attention. He is the One who made us and cares for us. We are His people and we are well cared for sheep under His care constant, loving care. Give thanks to God for who He is. Let this truth cause worship, praise, and thanksgiving to overflow from our lives. This is who our almighty God is. How big is our view our God? When our view of God is small, our thanksgiving and praise for Him will be little. But when our view of God matches the truth of who He is, our thanksgiving and praise will overflow in joyous shouts to the One who is worthy!! As we learned from the zone on worship, may there be an even greater expression of God’s worth that overflows from our lives and our churches.
1) Meditate on how you are specifically well cared for by the Lord, our Good Shepherd.
2) Thank Him and praise Him aloud for who He is. Turn back every blessing He has poured out in praise to Him.
