Romans 8:9-11 (NIV)
9 You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
Reflection:
Think about how many places you have lived or have visited throughout your lifetime. Remember all the childhood sleepovers at your friend’s houses, all the vacation homes, your college dorms, and the various apartments and homes you have inhabited. Even through all the fond memories, these places ended up being temporary or transient. So what is really permanent in this world?
It is the Spirit of Christ that lives in us and dwells within us- the same Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the dead! And this is PERMANENT. We belong to Him and we are His. And if this same Spirit who raised Christ lives inside us, we can now confidently testify the power of the resurrection no matter where we are. This is the same message Paul himself proclaimed many years ago and it is now INSIDE us, ready to be boldly proclaimed to our generation.
Responding to the Transmission:
As God’s children, may our lives reflect the truth of the Spirit of Christ living within us. Let’s ask the Spirit alive in us to empower us to boldly proclaim the power of the Gospel through our lives to all those around us in our generation.
