Psalm 73:23-26
23 Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory.
25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Reflection:
When Jesus commends Mary for choosing the “good portion” in Luke 10:41-42, the good portion is a reference to the preciousness and the greatest possession of being in close fellowship or relationship with the Lord. Just as the Psalm says- we are always with God and He holds us, guides us with His counsel and that we will be with Him in His glory. It’s knowing that the good portion can never be taken away from us instead it is our portion forever.
Response:
Let’s proclaim that the Lord is our good portion and thank Him that this can never be taken away from us. Let’s humbly ask the Lord to help us remain close to Him all our days.
