In 2012, the New Faculty Majority survey of contingent faculty working conditions was the basis for an influential report we produced with the Campaign for the Future of Higher Education: Who Is Professor "Staff" And how can this person teach so many classes?
This year, in conjunction with Campus Equity Week 2015, we are administering the survey once again. The 2015 survey seeks to assess the current experiences and working conditions of contingent faculty in colleges and universities across the United States. By “contingent faculty,” we mean all faculty who are NOT in a tenured or tenure track position. Faculty who report that they are currently in tenure-stream positions will not be able to complete the survey. If interested in seeing the survey instrument, you may contact us directly.
Please take some time to help us learn about your current experiences as a contingent faculty member by following the link below to fill out the survey.
The survey can take between 20 minutes to 1 hour to complete, depending on the amount of information you would like to share with us. All data collected in this study will be confidential. No personally identifiable information will be included with any data collected and your participation is voluntary. You may withdraw from the study at any time or skip any questions. Our hope is that you will complete the survey in its entirety so that we have an accurate picture of your experiences as a contingent faculty member.
Please feel free to share the link to this survey with any contingent faculty members you know. Thank you in advance for your time and input. Your response is greatly appreciated.
