East Side Campus Access, Parking and Routes Accessible Paths from the Commons Garage, Transit and More
Accessible routes and parking in the Commons Garage area have been available since the Interdisciplinary Life Science Building (ILSB) opened this Fall after three years of construction.  The attached document highlights how the accessible routes have expanded and shifted since the construction fencing came down this past summer.  If your event, classes, work, or other interests bring you to the East Side of Campus, take a look at the downloadable document to become familiar with updated options.

Facilities Management has the following Summer 2019 construction update:

Over the summer numerous construction projects will be taking place on campus, which may impact pedestrian pathways, building access points, roadways and some parking areas. As always, follow directional signage at the construction sites to navigate around these minor disruptions safely and effectively. For additional information please see the current construction activity map for information pertaining to the construction on campus and the summer 2019 accessible routes map for the location of temporary accessible routes where applicable.

Maintaining accessibility is part of the design and construction process. We work in partnership with Accessibility and Disability Services which supports faculty, staff, students and visitors with disabilities. The contractor working on the Interdisciplinary Life Sciences Building will begin installing new sidewalk pavers near the south entrance of the Commons Building beginning approximately Wednesday 9/19/2018. The installation will require the temporary relocation of the exterior walkway in this area and partial closures to the Commons Building entry doors. The rotation of door closures will continue through approximately Friday 10/5/2018 with minor shifts to the exterior walkway continuing through mid-October. 

An accessible route will be maintained into the Commons Building and through the area during most of this time. During times that an accessible route to the ground floor entrance is not available, signage will direct pedestrians to an alternate accessible route. Entrances to the first floor and upper levels of The Commons will be unaffected by the project.
