<Title>*Process Update* Prehire forms should be submitted via RT</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><div>Good Afternoon,</div><div><br></div><div>The HRSTM team has updated the method by which prehire forms are submitted for processing, whereby a payroll preparer is now required to be listed. As the AAOU SSC serves as the payroll preparer for our units, we are going to be taking back the ownership over prehire form submissions. </div><div><br></div><div>As a reminder, prehire forms are used to establish credentials and access to UMBC resources for incoming employees before their full new hire onboarding paperwork has been completed. Prehire forms remain active for 3 months, during which time the new hire paperwork must be completed and routed to HR for processing. <Title>*Important* FY25 Working File Submissions</Title>

    <div class="html-content">Good Afternoon,<div>As many of you know, the FY25 working files and control numbers have been distributed by the CBO.     <div class="html-content"><span>AAOU SSC Departments,</span><div><br></div><div>To ensure all transactions for FY24 are processed and approved by the central office(s) FY24 year-end deadlines, and the expenses post against your FY24 budget, the AAOU SSC has developed a year-end calendar for your reference.</div><div><br></div><div>Please note this calendar also includes activities that are not processed via shared services, and those transactions still remain the departments responsibility to complete prior to the listed deadline. </div><div><br></div><div>The AAOU SSC deadlines indicate the date in which your RT Requests must be received by shared services for processing.     <div class="html-content"><strong>DEPARTMENT PAYROLL PREPARERS &amp; APPROVERS: please share this information with your department employees. </strong><div><br></div><div>Good news! Employees no longer need to wait until the annual enrollment period to enroll in or make changes to their <strong>USM MetLife</strong> benefits. (USM = University System of Maryland)<div><br></div><div>Starting Monday, April 1, 2024, if you are a Regular or Contingent II (C2) employee, you can enroll in the USM-sponsored MetLife Term Life insurance &amp; Long-Term Disability benefits, make changes, or cancel your benefits anytime during the year. </div><div><div><br></div><div>Already enrolled and not interested in making changes? Your current coverage will continue seamlessly; no action is required.</div></div><div><br></div><div>If you are outside of your initial 60 days of USM employment and want to enroll in USM MetLife coverages, you will need to provide <strong>evidence of insurability</strong> (medical underwriting) to be approved for USM MetLife coverages. To complete your application, look for the "Start Your Statement of Health" button during enrollment.</div><div><br></div><div>MetLife will review your application and notify you of their decision and the effective date of your coverage.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Please note:</strong> USM MetLife coverages are <em>not </em>available in the SPS Workday system. Workday is the State's online system that administers <strong>State </strong>health benefits only.
